Working from home – tips for women by Susan Beckinsale
Working from home can seem like a glorious alternative to the daily commute to the office. However, care must be taken to maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency. Many women find themselves struggling to get sufficient work done. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to help you thrive when working at home…
1. You must plan your time by setting yourself a number of hours each day or per week.
2. Resist the temptation to undertake any non-work activities such as housework during these work hours.
3. Set aside a work area and keep it free from distractions. If you don’t have the space for a dedicated work area and you are serious about working from home, you may want to consider adding space to your house. A garage conversion or loft conversion can be really worth the cost.
4. Only look after your children during your working hours if there is no other option. Distractions during your working hours will leave you struggle to get anything done.
5. Don’t allow your work to take over from other aspects if your home life. Stick to the set hours and no more.
6. Never make personal phone calls or have non-business guests round during your working hours. A quick call or visit can soon develop into the loss of several hours.

Women often find themselves working from home in order to earn enough money to pay the bills and put food on the table. However, there are many steps you can take to reduce the amount of money that you do need to earn. Finding the cheapest deal on home insurance, reducing your energy bills, taking advantage of voucher codes – they all help to reduce your monthly outgoings.
